You know that, don’t you? There is always something going on. For me, it was my skin and my digestive system that draw my attention to them regularly for years. I had my complexes with skin problems, particularly as a teenager – when you start wanting to show a little more skin. I wished I could hide my skin. And the bowl movement happens daily – you know what I’m talking about – and showed me in the most unpleasant way that it is unbearable in the long run. So, every day I had my wake-up call that something was wrong. If your quality of life is so compromised by health problems, it will also have an increasing impact on your mental health in the long run. You don’t necessarily talk to everyone about such intimate topics, because they are often associated with a feeling of shame. The thoughts, worries, doubts, and uncertainty about your health problems are constantly taking up latent space in your head – at least that’s how it was for me.
“Why me? Do others have the same problems?”
I went from one doctor to another and was prescribed one drug after another. The symptoms eased temporarily but returned after a short time. I was totally frustrated and tired of continuing this vicious circle. Should I be dependent on these drugs for the rest of my life to feel reasonably well? For me, that was out of the question. So, I started researching and found out that by omitting or introducing certain foods, the symptoms didn’t come back at all.
The AHA moment: Food as medicine!
So I researched further and further and began to invest time and money in studying to become a nutritionist in order to help many other people to gain this knowledge and to save themselves unnecessary suffering.
